About Tiny Toes Design

Welcome!

Tiny Toes Design is my collection of nature-inspired children’s art, books, and gifts created for the spaces where childhood unfolds. My work is known for being softer, more timeless, and less cutesy than much of what’s out there—helping families create calm, thoughtful spaces connected to the natural world.

The Story Behind Tiny Toes Design

Tiny Toes Design began when I was pregnant with my son and struggled to find artwork that felt right for his room—pieces that would appeal to him while still feeling beautiful to me. Much of what I found felt overly cartoonish, generic, or disposable. I wanted artwork that felt more timeless, artful, and connected to the natural world I’ve always loved. So I began creating it myself.

Because I’ve always been passionate about animals, wildlife, and the environment, I naturally wanted the art to reflect the beautiful creatures that share our world. And having our very own little lion—Diablo, our red-headed tabby—I cleverly incorporated him into each piece for the nursery.

After my son was born, my artwork became the focus of our daily wake-up ritual. To this day, he loves animals and continues to enjoy my artwork. Seeing the joy the art brings him—and how his face lights up during our conversations—has made every second spent on those pieces worth it.

Art That Lasts Beyond the Nursery

As a mom and artist, I know how meaningful it can be to create a space that feels thoughtful, beautiful, and loved. I create artwork that fits a range of styles—from classic to modern, colorful to neutral—and can grow with your child over time. While many pieces begin in nurseries, my hope is that they remain meaningful well beyond those earliest years.

Children’s spaces don’t have to be filled with disposable decor. I believe the artwork we surround children with can help shape what they notice, love, and feel connected to. My goal is to create art that feels beautiful enough to keep and meaningful enough to help children build a lasting love for animals and the natural world.

While animals will always be at the heart of my work, the collection has also grown to include themes like dinosaurs, space, and imaginative worlds—each created to spark curiosity and connection.

Every piece begins as original artwork and is created by hand using mediums like watercolor, pencil, marker, and pastel.

Tiny Toes Design Gives Back

Being blessed to do the work I do, I am committed to using it as a vehicle to give back. I donate a minimum of 10% of proceeds to causes supporting wildlife conservation, animal welfare, and the environment. It means a great deal to me that this work can support causes I care deeply about.

Artwork Meant to Last

So much of what we buy for childhood is temporary. My hope is that the artwork you bring into your home is something that stays—beginning in a nursery and remaining meaningful for years to come.

Please feel free to reach out anytime with questions or feedback. If you’re interested in a custom piece, I’d love to create something special for your family.

Thank you so much, again, for stopping by!

With gratitude,
Brett
